The download dialog for Netscape users

After you have activated the download, a dialog is started in which you are asked what you would like to do with the file you have chosen. What happens next depends on the basic settings of your Netscape Navigator, but usually one of the following windows will appear:

When downloading from some servers (FTP servers), you will be first shown any possible security risks that downloading may pose, and at the same time asked if the program should be saved or opened.

Activate the option "save to hard drive".

The field which states "before opening this type of file…." must remain activated!

Otherwise your PC will not save files, but will open them automatically. In the case that this happens to you, please continue to read here

It could be that your browser doesn't recognize the file extension, and then a dialog box pops up.

Also here, you must choose the "save file.." button.

Then a window will appear in which you must choose a directory to save the file in.

Choose the directory you have made for downloads.

If you haven't already made a downloads directory, you can do so at this time by clicking on the folder symbol (third icon from the right at the top) to make a new directory.

Then downloading begins.

When the download is finished, the window closes automatically.

 Almost finished!

The file is now on your computer. In order to use the program, however, you must first install it. You can find out how to install various screen savers here:
