At the age of six she started with ballet, and ended up being accepted to the Joffrey Ballet Company in New York. However, a knee injury ended her career in dance. This tragic incident opened up new opportunities for Charlize - her talent for acting was discovered. She's acted alongside some of Hollywood's greatest: Al Pacino, Keanu Reeves, Robert de Niro and Matt Damon. For her work in the film "Monster" she not only received a Golden Globe, a Silver Bear, and a SAG Award, but also an Oscar nomination. And this is just the beginning of Charlize's promising career.
