The sun - life on Earth just wouldn't be possible without this star. It's the most prominent part of our solar system. It would take 109 planet Earths lined up next to each other just to measure the diameter. And 1.3 million planet Earths could fit inside of it! You can watch this impressive heavenly body on your PC thanks to a screen saver from the ESA Project's SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory). The best part about it is that you can stare at it all day if you'd like, and you don't have to worry about going blind! Current pictures of the sun are delivered right to your desktop which give you a view of not only sun spots (dark impressions assiciated with solar flares), but also "sunquakes", and much more. Each time you start your computer, the pictures are automatically updated from the Internet.
