African Elephants
Measuring 13 feet at the shoulder, the African elephant is the largest land mammal on Earth. It's said that these intelligent creatures have astounding memories - that's no surprise with a brain that weighs 12 pounds. Two of the African elephant's body parts are especially unique: the trunk and the large ear laps - both integral to its survival. Without its trunk, the elephant would be unable to feed itself, and without the large ear laps the elephant wouldn't be able to keep itself cool - elephants don't have sweat glands. This screen saver shows high-resolution pictures of the fantastic land mammal. And not only individual animals are portrayed in their natural environment, but also entire family groups.
