Sunflowers
Sunflowers can grow up to 10 feet in height and were brought to Europe from America by the Spaniards in 1530. They are especially nice to see during summertime - in full bloom with their blossoms facing toward the sun. It's well known that they serve as a food source for birds, and that people use healthy sunflower oil for cooking. But did you know that they are also used in the purification of contaminated soil? There's a lot more than meets the eye to this fantastic flower.
This screen saver presents you with several pictures of various sunflowers.
