This regatta is in a class of its own and is always fascinating to watch. The America's Cup is often called the "Formula 1 of the Sea". And that's a good description because, just like Formula 1 racing, it's really in a class all its own. The top teams, like BMW Oracle, invest millions in their high-tech sailboats. Even though the Cup starts in 2007, the fight for the much sought after trophy has already begun. Teams earn points for each race they are in, which can be used in 2007 as bonus points. A race like this one is not only about fast sailing; clever sailing tactics often decide who wins the race.
