Madagascar lies off the East coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. It's the second largest island nation in the world. Madagascar is often referred to as the 8th continent. Its very early split from Africa has resulted in the island developing very unique flora and fauna that you won't find anywhere else - like the cute lemurs and other lower primates. These animals have hardly any natural enemies; besides the native civet cats, there aren't any other large carnivores. This screen saver, brought to you by the organization 'Conservation International', features the unique world of Madagascar. Included are beautiful photos of lemurs, the indigenous people of Madagascar, birds, and frogs.
